Friday, September 26, 2014 the launching conference of the project „Active Women in the Labor Market”, financed from the European Social Fund through the Operational Programme Human Resources Development 2007-2013 Invest in people!, was held at Hotel Minerva in Bucharest.
The strategic project ” Active Women in the Labor Market ” is implemented by CEED Romania Foundation in partnership with SC IPA SA – Trading Company for research, design and manufacturing of automation equipment and installation, and the Association Youth Forum.
The event, attended by the media, women beneficiaries of the free services offered by the project or interested to join it, representatives of organizations and institutions with which the project partners collaborate and that will support the project, provided an opportunity for the three partners to present the approach and expected results of the project, highlighting the impact of funding secured from the European Social Fund and the national budget.
Carried out under the motto “Competence, employment, respect for women“, the project will provide free training, business counseling and involvement in the Virtual Network of Career Women for a number of 800 women in southern Romania – Bucharest-Ilfov, South, Southeast and Southwest regions. Through integrated package of quality professional services, the project will contribute significantly to increasing employment opportunities for beneficiaries and their ability to advance in their careers. Equally, the project aims to strengthen the principle of equal and gender opportunities, thus contributing to the development of an inclusive labor markets in targeted regions.
In a period of a year and a half since May 2014, the project team aims to generate tangible benefits for women who will participate in the proposed activities:
- 485 women will improve their skills through vocational courses in ICT and business, having, therefore, better employment opportunities;
- 315 women will increase their entrepreneurial and managerial skills through training courses and advisory business / management; we estimate that 20 of them will start their own businesses, thus creating jobs for themselves and other women;
- The 200 women who will join the Virtual Network of Career Women will directly benefit from the advantages of sharing information, experience and best practices for advancing their career or business.
- In addition, the access of beneficiaries and stakeholders to information on the importance, the legal provisions and ways to implement the principle of equal and gender opportunities, the application of this principle will strengthen in the targeted regions.
